What is the Instagram Reels safe zone?

On a 1080 × 1920 Instagram Reels video, keep text, faces and logos inside a 890 × 1060 px box: 220 px clear at the top, 640 px at the bottom, 130 px on the right and 60 px on the left. That leaves about 55% of the height for anything that must be read.

Why is the bottom margin so large on Reels?

Instagram shows the username, follow button, caption, audio line and a reply bar at the bottom. Together they take about a third of the frame, so text there is often covered.

Does the Reels grid crop my video?

Yes. The profile grid shows a 3:4 crop from the centre, so put the main subject and any cover text in the middle of the frame.

Can I use the same video for TikTok and Reels?

Yes, if you use the shared safe area: 830 × 1040 px, which clears TikTok, Reels and Shorts at once. Pick "All 3" in the checker to see it.

Is my video uploaded when I use the checker?

No. The preview runs entirely in your browser with a local file link. Nothing is sent to a server.
