What is the TikTok safe zone?
On a 1080 × 1920 TikTok video, keep text, faces and logos inside a 870 × 1240 px box: 210 px clear at the top, 470 px at the bottom, 150 px on the right and 60 px on the left. That leaves about 65% of the height for anything that must be read.
Why does the right side need more room than the left?
TikTok stacks the profile picture, like, comment, save and share buttons in a column on the right. Anything under that column is hard to read, so text should stop about 150 px from the right edge.
Where should captions go on TikTok?
In the middle of the frame. The bottom 470 px hold the username, caption and sound, so subtitles placed there collide with the app's own text.
Does the safe zone change on different phones?
A little. Taller phones show more of the frame and some app versions move buttons by a few pixels. The margins here are rounded up so they hold on common phones.
Is my video uploaded when I use the checker?
No. The preview runs entirely in your browser with a local file link. Nothing is sent to a server.
