What is the YouTube Shorts safe zone?

On a 1080 × 1920 YouTube Shorts video, keep text, faces and logos inside a 830 × 1060 px box: 200 px clear at the top, 660 px at the bottom, 190 px on the right and 60 px on the left. That leaves about 55% of the height for anything that must be read.

Why does Shorts need the widest right margin?

Shorts shows like, dislike, comment, share, remix and a sound thumbnail on the right, and the buttons are larger than on TikTok. Keep text about 190 px from the right edge.

What resolution should a YouTube Short be?

1080 × 1920 pixels (9:16), up to 3 minutes long. Square and taller videos are accepted, but 9:16 fills the screen.

Where do Shorts captions go?

In the centre of the frame. The bottom 660 px hold the channel name, subscribe button, title and navigation, which cover subtitles placed low.

Is my video uploaded when I use the checker?

No. The preview runs entirely in your browser with a local file link. Nothing is sent to a server.
